In one long-term study, 84% of single-trauma victims and 77% of multiple trauma victims no longer had PTSD after only three 90-minute EMDR sessions. These effects were maintained during the 15-month follow-up, as detailed by the EMDR Institute.

Furthermore, the World Health Organization recommends trauma-focused CBT and EMDR as first-line treatments for PTSD, stating that they are effective in the long term.
